A BEAUTIFUL 100% C1941-44 RECORD 15 JEWEL SOUGHT AFTER CAL 022K BRITISH MILITARY BLACK DIAL W.W.W. WRIST WATCH IN BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL CONDITION. A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR, OR THE MILITARY WATCH ENTHUSIAST. ONE OF THE DIRTY DOZEN!! FRESH FROM AN ESTATE SALE AND NEVER OFFERED ON EBAY BEFORE! CASE:This is a stunning, and beautiful two piece screw back watch case. The back of the case is correctly numbered L 30704 and 548551 and it has the British military broad arrow mark and W.W.W. (Water proof Wrist Watch). The case itself is in good original used condition with some nicks scratches and light brassing on the bezel and the edges and case sides through normal military use. There are some marks to the case back and few scratches where a case opener has slipped. There is also one shallow ding. The watch measures 3.6cms (36mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY original MILITARY watch case. DIAL:This is an absolutely lovely, minty and most importantly original fully signed black military dial. The dial is signed “RECORD” in white painted lettering with the British military broad arrow mark and the wording underneath ‘Swiss Made’ on the bottom of the dial. It has painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a white minute track which is in excellent original condition. Some of the numerals have a bit of loss here and there (see photos) The hour markers are lumed dots. some are missing but the others look to be totally original and have the ORIGINAL lume still on which has browned slightly. The beautiful steel hour and minute hands are in good condition. It looks like that at sometime ago both hands have been re lumed.The sub- second hand is white metal and is in good original condition showing some oxidisation. This is a really lovely dial in beautiful aged condition. The crystal shows only light wear. MOVEMENT:This is a clean and absolutely genuine RECORD CAL 022K 15 jewel manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish and is FULLY signed on the first wheel, showing its true Record roots. It is numbered as it should be. The watch winds smoothly, sets with ease and has good friction. It is in full working condition and has been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. The watch is keeping good time for its advanced years, as tested over a 12 hour period. The crown looks to be a replacement and is in good condition. BAND:This fabulous RECORD W.W.W. MILITARY wrist watch is fitted with a new black leather 18mm open ended band which looks nice.
